The purpose of this interactive online course is to describe and demonstrate an approach to installing a transmission line. This work is not a routine part of a lineworker’s job in many locations, but an understanding of the basic approach is useful to individuals who are responsible for maintaining lines.

At the conclusion of this course, participants should understand how to plan and set up an installation job, the purpose of guard structures, and how to set them up. They should also know how to pull conductors into place to properly sag and how to clip them permanently to the insulators.
