Duration 30 Minutes
OSHA’s Hazard Communications Standard was recently revised in an effort to bring the U.S. into alignment with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. With this change in the standard comes new requirements for labels and Safety Data Sheets, formally called Material Safety Data Sheets, aimed at improving worker understanding of the chemicals they use and the hazards that they are exposed to while using those chemicals.
This course is designed to teach students how to identify and understand the labeling and Safety Data Sheet components of OSHA’s new Hazard Communications program. At the completion of this course, the student should be able to identify and understand when and how to use labels, SDS, recognize the hazard pictograms and understand the hazards that they represent.
