The current industry standards state that Competent Climbers shall be evaluated once a year and have updated training every two years to stay current with new regulations, equipment and work hazards.

This course is intended for workers who: 1) have been through an industry-recognized Fall Protection Course; 2) hold a current Competent Climber certificate; 3) climb regularly; and, 4) need a refresher course in order to keep their current certification in good standing. At the completion of this course, it is the employer’s responsibility to evaluate and ensure the worker has the climbing skills to go along with their certifications.

The foundation of this course is based on the NATE CTS/CTP outline and the ANSI Z359.2-2007 standard “Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program.” The course also takes into account new equipment and standards.
