Battery Acid and Spill Safety

Battery acid is a corrosive substance that can be harmful to individuals if it leaks or is spilled out of an enclosed battery. Therefore, prompt cleanup of all battery acid spills is necessary to prevent injuries.

This course will explain procedures that will help you identify the hazards associated with batteries, limit your exposure to those hazards, and teach you how to properly handle spills and releases.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Describe how to respond and clean up a battery acid spill
• Describe how to mitigate and treat battery acid exposures
